From an early age, Akshay was interested in sports. He started schooling at Don Bosco School, he then proceeded with his studies and enrolled for higher education at Guru Nanak Khalsa College where he later dropped out since he wasn’t interested in his studies.
Akshay Kumar studied martial arts in Hong Kong. He got into the industry after his fellow student suggested he try modeling. His good looks, excellent martial skills, and success in modeling made him the first choice in adventurous movies. Before he started acting, he was a waiter in Bangkok.

Akshay Kumar made his debut in 1987 in a minor role Mahesh Bhatt directed Indian film. He primarily starred action films but later gained fame and become popular for his romantic, comic, and drama roles. His breakthrough was in the Saugandh (1991). He became a world-known superstar between 1990 to 2000 in his Khiladi series (Mr. Bond, Khiladi, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi, and Khiladi 420. He starred more than 110 films.
