Patani was born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh to her parents on 13 June 1992. She has two siblings, Khushboo Patani (elder sister) and Suryansh Patani (younger brother). She belongs to the Rajput community. Her sister is a lieutenant in the Indian Armed forces while her father, Jagdish Singh Patani is a police officer. She came to Mumbai with just 500 rupees to try her luck in acting and now we all know how successful an actor she has become. She is a fitness freak and loves to keep her body fit and well-toned.
Disha is fond of eating and considers it the second most important thing in her life. Her favorite desserts include Jalebi, Emarti, and Rabri. During her childhood days, Disha always dreamt of becoming a Pilot in the Indian Air Force.
