She completed her primary schooling from Main Convent Ipoh. She moved to the United Kingdom with her family at an age of 15 and completed a bachelor’s degree in Creative Arts from the Royal Academy of Dance.
At the age of 20, She won the Miss Malaysia beauty pageant in 1983. She also won the Miss Moomba beauty pageant title in Australia. Michelle Yeoh started her acting career in 1984. Her debut movie was The Owl vs Bombo, directed by Sammo Hung.
