Vera Farmiga was born in New Jersey on 6 August 1973. She is the second elder among the seven siblings. Although Vera is American, she was not able to speak English until age 6 since their parents are Ukrainians and instilled in her the values of this country. Vera Acting Career
During the end of her interpretation studies in performing arts from Syracuse University, she began her career as a professional actress in 1996 debuting on Broadway as an alternate for the play ‘Taking Sides’. At that time, she made her debut on television, next to the famous Heath Ledger, in the Roar series. In 1998 Farmiga debuted as a film actress in the drama ‘Return to Paradise‘. Then she played the daughter of Chris Walken in The Opportunists (2000) and shared scenes in romantic drama ‘Autumn in New York’ (2000) with Richard Gere and Winona Ryder.
Farmiga continued her career in little media coverage and little success projects: 15 minutes (2001), ashes, and gunpowder (2001) and Dummy (2002).
